Audience Effects Theory

  1) What information do media companies use to create a demographic profile of their audience? Media companies use a combination of demogrphics, and psychographic  information  to build an audience profile. Demographics include  age, gender, income, education, and occupation , while factors add details like  marital status and location . Psychographic data includes  lifestyle, interests, values, and online behaviors  to create a deeper understanding of the audience.   2) Why are media companies and advertisers increasingly using audience profiling and not just demographics? Media companies use audience profiling because it shows not just who people are, but why they behave the way they do.
