1) What is a conglomerate in the media industries? 
A conglomerate is a media company that owns lots of small media companies.Most of the global media industries are dominated by a smaller number of massive conglomerate.
2) What is a subsidiary?
subsidiary- A company that is owned or controlled by another company.
3) What are the benefits for media companies of vertical integration?
Benefits for media companies of vertical integration is that it allows them to control the entire supply chain for example Disney owns film studios, CGI specialists, film distributors, TV channels giving complete ownership to Disney allowing it to make more profit and full control.
4) What are the benefits for media companies of horizontal integration?
Benefits for media companies of horizontal integration is that it allows horizontal integration to widen their audience and will try find ways to gain money.

Convergence- A Technological convergence refers to the fact we can now access all different types of media on one device.
The growth of smartphones has completely changed the relationship between industries and audiences.Traditional industries like newspapers are now moving into video or online content and audiences can now create their own user-generated content.
7) Why did Facebook buy Instagram for $1bn? Answer in as much detail as possible
Facebook buyed instagram as Facebook's cheif wants to develop instagram into a seperate brand so it can post to rival networks.
